GENERAL ELECTRICAL WARNING

Read and follow instructions exactly as shown. If instructions are unclear, do not proceed. Contact a qualified electrician. Read all instructions before beginning. Proper wiring is essential for safe operation of this fixture. When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, do not damage electrical wiring, gas lines, or water lines. If any of the fixture or wiring components are damaged, do not install fixture. Return to place of purchase.

Installation

Be cautious when adjusting the length of the cord. It is important that no damage occurs to the insulation on the internal wires. These steps should only be performed by someone experienced with electrical wiring. If you are not experienced with these steps, please contact a qualified electrician.

  1. Remove the wire connectors that connect the wires from the end of the cord to the wires from the outlet box (if applicable). Make sure to note which colored wires are connected in each wire connector so they can be reconnected correctly.
  2. Loosen the screw in the strain relief until the cord slides easily, being careful not to completely remove the screw. Slide the canopy down the cord until the pendant is at the desired height. Tighten the screw in the strain relief until the cord is secured in place.
  3. Cut the excess cord approximately six to seven inches (6”-7”) above the canopy.
  4. Leaving at least one inch (1”) of outer insulation above the canopy, carefully cut through the outer insulation of the cord, being careful not to damage the inner insulation. Remove the outer insulation. Strip the inner insulation from the end of both wires, leaving approximately one-half inch (½") of wire exposed.
  5. For cords with identical inner insulation, identify the tracer lines on the new ends of the inner wires to match the labels on the original ends and connect to the house wiring as described in the appropriate step.

If the light fixture does not come with light bulbs and you are installing dimmable light bulbs (incandescent, LED, or CFL), then the dimmable light bulbs will need to be compatible with the type of dimmer being used. Check with the manufacturer of the dimmer or the manufacturer of the light bulbs to make sure they are compatible with each other. If the light fixture has an integrated LED, refer to the Specification Sheet for a list of compatible dimmers. To access the specification sheet for your light fixture:

  1. Type the item number or product name into the search bar on our website.
  2. Select your light fixture from the search results to open the product page.
